Weigh-in

Today was weekly weigh-in. Neither if us had lost any weight despite me really trying and P sort of trying.. Wonder if scales are working properly. However over the last three weeks I have lost two inches from my waist which is good! Yay! Apart from one flapjack and some chocolate pudding and ice-cream yesterday I've had hardly any sugar all week and very little last week. It's hard going though. Would like to get a few pounds below what I was in the summer.

J is my supporter in this, if you count yelling "Don't eat chocolate Mum!" as support.

Snow

We've had snow but not much so schools not closed or anything. I miss those days when the word 'snow' would send J into paroxysms of delight. Now he just grunts. I embarrassed him by reminding him of the time, when he was about 8, that he woke up one morning groaning that he was too ill to go to school.

"School's shut, it's snowing," I said.

In an instant he bounded out of bed completely better. Obviously a miracle.

With hind-sight I wish I'd made him stay in bed.

No sugar day

Haven't eaten any sugar today. This is partly motivated by a desire to lose a bit more weight - did really well over summer then put 4 pounds back on again. Also my dad, who's not really all that well, might have Type 2 diabetes. He has been overweight for years.

Anyway today I feel awful.

I have however managed to do it. Even resisted the last bit of Christmas cake.

Can I do it again tomorrow?

Bit if an update

We headed off to Wales the Sunday after Christmas ( delayed a day cos of P's cold). Had a really nice time with my family and a nice New year's party with my brother's friends. Weather was a bit icy at times but not too bad. On the journey home I started going down with the cold and spent a couple of days in bed but just glad I didn't get it over Christmas.

J had an extra two weeks off school - the first as study leave and then he had mock exams during the second week. He said they went ok. They have a formal mock results day next Thursday. I think it's meant to scare them a bit into working harder - imagining opening the real thing in August.

J is doing an Alpha course at church which he's enjoying. His friend Tim goes along as well.

Our church is going well, hosted the Unity service last week - very well attended.

Went on another healing course on Saturday - very good.
