Sun!

Hot, hot, hot.

Despite all the sunshine I've been diagnosed as having Vitamin D deficiency. All these years I thought slathering sunblock all over my body was good for me. So now I'm taking tablets and sitting in the sunshine for half an hour a day.

Talking of which I'd better go and do just that.

Curry night

Just should mention that last week I went out for a church 'ladies curry night'. Going out without P is a really big deal nowadays and Becky wasn't able to come. I thought at least with curry I wouldn't have to ask anyone to cut up my food for me. P dropped me off and was going to pick me up again but new friend from church, Melanie, said she'd drive me home. I said she should fold down wheelchair handles before putting it in car but couldn't remember how to do it so she shoved it in anyway and door wouldn't close with handles unfolded and bit of a job trying to get it out again but then I remembered how to unfold them so all right in the end.

Food was very nice - I had chick pea, sweet potato and spinach curry. There was also naan bread, 2 poppadums, rice and mango chutney. Yum.

MRI ok

Should just mention that J's MRI result was fine.Still getting headaches so not just due to 'exam stress'  as people kept saying (I think if anyone was stressed by his exams it was me). Has another appointment in September.

Waste of money

Trying to get my head round fact that my son actually is clearing out his room. He sorted his large bookcase yesterday which involved taking a screwdriver to it and taking out a shelf. He presented me with a pile of books for the charity shop most of which I'd bought him with a view to improving his mind and most of which he'd never read. Sigh.

Bit of an update

Wow Wimbledon was good this year especially the men's final. I couldn't decide who I wanted to win - I like both of them.

Sixth Form Taster Day went well - he looked so smart and grown up. I ordered some trousers from Gap which arrived just in time.

Have had a couple of days out - one at the sea-side and one in London where we spent a lot of time looking for an ASK restaurant as P had vouchers but after a long walk including sheltering from the rain we discovered a new shopping centre was being built on top of where it had been so we ended up in another Italian which was nice but a bit pricey. We had intended to go up the tower in Westminster Cathedral as it's advertised as having a lift. When we got there the man said to me 'If the lift breaks down, which it does sometimes, can you walk down 370 steps?' Er no, so we decided P and J would go up and I'd stay in the cafe. 'Sorry the cafes up a spiral staircase.' What? So we went to the National Portrait Gallery istead which was quite interesting.

Baby Benjamin was dedicated today - he is lovely and smiley now.
