At church this morning there was a puppet show. This was fine for young children. They loved it. It was fine also for grown-ups. They went into second childhood mode. However for the 3 teens/almost teens in front of me (including mine) it was seriously uncool to even look for one second like you might be enjoying it so they spent the service trying to shove each other off their seats.
And J I think when Jesus told the parable about the house built on the sand vs the house built on the rock He wasn't really looking forward to a time when technological advances were such that the foundations could be drilled right down to the bedrock so a house built on sand would be stable I think what He meant was that in order to withstand the storms of life we should put our trust in Him & nothing else. OK? And no I don't know why all the houses in Egypt don't fall down. OK?
And maybe the Jenga tower the woman leading the service constructed wasn't exactly the best feat of engineering in the world and maybe you could have done it better (& you could have gone up when she asked for volunteers) but she was just making a point.OK?
The boys followed this time of uplifting spiritual refreshment by Tim snatching Adam's glasses & he & J running off while poor Adam blundered blindly around muttering 'anyone seen Tim?'. Then they all went outside & had a water fight.
